Xiaomi Mi 8’s global stable Android Pie update rolls out as MIUI 10.1.1

MIUI China 8.11.8 brings better support for the Google Camera application on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and the Xiaomi Mi 8.

A few months ago we highlighted the Xiaomi Mi 8 receiving a beta update to MIUI 10 which was based on Android Pie. This was the global update and followed shortly after the Chinese beta update had been released to the public. It can take time for a smartphone company to iron out all of the kinks of a major version update, but the stable version of Android Pie for the global Mi 8 is finally rolling out. This update will be labeled MIUI 10.1.1 and if you wait long enough then you will receive the OTA update notification for it.

That is because it’s safer for an OEM to do slow rollouts for an update just in case there is a bug that wasn’t caught during the Q/A process. However, thanks to XDA Recognized Developer yshalsager, we have the direct download link to the recovery ROM for this update. This means you can use the software updater that is built into MIUI or you can install it via TWRP. Grab the download from the link below.
