The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 was announced back in October at an event in Beijing. They launched the Chinese variant of the phone at that event and there were rumors of the global variant launching later. Now it’s almost the end of 2018 and the global variant of the device is finally available in Hong Kong. Last week, we got our hands on the device in New York at the Xiaomi get-together. Now, we were lucky enough to get our hands on the global variant for review. You can watch the unboxing on XDA TV below.
The device comes in a nice, high quality, cardboard box. It comes with an EU power brick and there is also a 10w wireless charger in the box. It also has a thin case included, which is a nice touch. The phone has a Snapdragon 845, up to 10GBs of RAM, and up to 256GBs of storage. The model we got is the 6GB + 128GB variant. It has dual 12MP rear cameras (wide-angle primary lens and one telephoto lens). The front is a full bezel-less display with a sliding mechanism for the front cameras and flash. The front has a 12MP and a 2MP camera. The 2MP camera is for portrait mode with AI studio lighting. It comes with MIUI 10 based on Android Pie.
We don’t know exact dates when the Mi Mix 3 will be available in Europe and more globally, but right now the global model is available in Hong Kong. There is also a Snapdragon 855 with 5G variant of the Mi Mix 3 launching in 2019, we don’t have exact dates or pricing on that either.
