The Google Pixel lineup has been known for its camera performance as well as for being all-around good smartphones, though their cost often pushes them out of reach for most consumer. Google has released two variants of the Pixel in every generation, mainly to target two different size preferences, but both the devices are still quite expensive when compared to the value-for-money factor of the competition.
As it turns out, Google does indeed listen to feedback. As per current leaks and rumors, the tech giant plans to release two additional Pixel variants — the Google Pixel 3 Lite and the Google Pixel 3 Lite XL, targeting a lower price point than before. The Pixel 3 Lite has been pictured before on two occasions, and now we have renders of both the devices available courtesy of leaker @OnLeaks, through 91mobiles.

The Google Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL share design similarities with the current generation Pixel 3, but with a few key differences. The bezels on the device, especially on the sides, are wider as against the flagship duo. There is also no stereo speaker setup on the Lite duo, and there’s only one selfie camera. However, the 3.5mm headphone jack makes a return on the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL, which is a very surprising move from Google (considering how the Pixel’s advertisements mocked Apple’s removal of the headphone jack, only for Google to also remove it a year later with the Pixel 2).
The right side of both the devices sport the volume rocker and the power switch, while the left side houses the SIM tray. A USB Type-C port is present on the bottom of the devices, sandwiched between the speaker grilles. However, it remains to be seen if the holes are simply for aesthetics or if they do house speakers on both sides.
At the back, the devices continue on with a single camera alongside a dual-tone LED flash. There’s also a fingerprint reader on the back. While the devices do have a glass finish on the top half, both the devices are actually featuring a polycarbonate construction instead of glass.
Google Pixel 3 Lite

The Pixel 3 Lite will measure 151.3 mm x 70.1 mm x 8.2 mm, and will sport a 5.5″ FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9.
While @OnLeaks does not have confirmation on the remaining specs, previous unconfirmed rumors suggested that the Pixel 3 Lite will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and non-expandable storage options of 32GB or 64GB. The rear camera is said to be 12MP, while the front camera is expected to be an 8MP snapper. The Pixel 3 Lite will come with a 2,915 mAh battery, and will run Android 9 Pie out of the box.
Google Pixel 3 Lite XL

The Pixel 3 Lite XL will measure 160 mm x 76.1 mm x 8.2 mm, and will sport a 6″ FHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9.
Similar to the Pixel 3 Lite, rest of the specifications for the Pixel 3 Lite XL have not been confirmed by @OnLeaks. Other than changes in size and battery, the Pixel 3 Lite XL is expected to be the same phone as the Pixel 3 Lite, though some other unverified rumors point to a bump up to Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC.
While the Pixel 3 Lite duo is expected to be cheaper, make no mistake — the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL are not expected to be cheap per se. Google is likely targeting the upper mid-range of the smartphone market in terms of pricing, rather than competing with low mid-range devices or affordable flagships. The exact pricing and availability details of the phones will only become clear at their launch, whose timeframe also remains unknown at this stage.
