Since 2016, OnePlus has a history of releasing two different flagship smartphones each year. In some cases, the design is the same but the internal hardware is different. In other cases, both the internal hardware and the software have had some changes made to it. With the transition from the OnePlus 6 to the OnePlus 6T, we saw a reduction in notch size, the removal of the 3.5mm headphone port, and the introduction of the in-display fingerprint sensor. This fingerprint sensor has been a big hit for OnePlus 6T owners and to help bring attention to it the company has put an icon at the bottom of the lock screen.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the customization capabilities of Android are what make it the best choice in a mobile OS and that applies here as well. If you’re not a fan of the default fingerprint icon that OnePlus has put on the lock screen, we have a mod from XDA Recognized Developer and Retired Forum Moderator Zacharee1 that will let you change it. This mod is based on Oxygen OS 9.0.10 of the International variant and has not yet been tested on the T-Mobile version.
The ghosting from the old icon has been fixed
Features
- Use any image you want (large ones may need to be manually resized)
- Tint the chosen image any color
- Separate image and tint settings for the “normal” and “disabled” icons
- Disable the fingerprint read animation
