The OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T are some of ours and our readers’ favorite phones of 2018. They offer a no-frills software experience, are among the fastest performing phones on the market, have fast software updates, flagship specifications, and are priced at a point that undercuts much of the competition. In addition, OnePlus is also very well known for launching their phones in various colors from white, to gold, to red, and even Thanos Thunder Purple. They also launch special edition models like the Star Wars OnePlus 5T and the Marvel Avengers OnePlus 6. Today, the company made the move to luxury performance auto brands with a partnership that includes the one and only McLaren, and the new OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition isn’t just a custom color.

The McLaren Edition OnePlus 6T includes a brand new version of Dash Warp Charge called Warp Charge 30, and it packs another first for OnePlus – 10GB of RAM. The McLaren edition also maxes the internal storage with 256GB of UFS 2.1. That isn’t all though. In the box, you get a special version of the much beloved OnePlus carbon fiber case, an acrylic desk piece with a carbon fiber McLaren logo, and finally, an AR-enabled Salute to Speed high-quality book that goes through the auto racing and mobile phone history of the two brands. Check out the YouTube video below for our unboxing and hands-on and stay tuned for more technical testing of the OnePlus 6T McLaren edition.
The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition will be available for purchase from December 13th in the United States, Europe, and India. The only exception is China, where it will launch at a later, unannounced date. It will cost $699, putting it at a more premium price than the regular OnePlus 6T. Do recall that this edition does come with a free official and custom case which makes the price difference more like $40 if you were going to be getting one anyways and that $40 difference brings with it the awesome packaging, custom color and branding, custom UI theme elements, along with that bump in RAM and the faster charger.
