Meizu has had a curious existence in the Indian market. Despite being around for a few years now, the Chinese OEM has been unable to make any significant progress towards market share, as the fierce competition from other Chinese OEMs has kept them without any major success. Meizu is hoping to change this with the launch of the Meizu M16th flagship in India.

The Meizu M16th is essentially the Meizu 16 flagship that has been launched earlier in China, but now rebranded for the Indian market. The device has a glass back design, similar to that of the OnePlus 6T. Meizu does pride itself upon the fact that the Meizu M16th sticks to a more conventional 18:9 aspect ratio, entirely foregoing the notch. Instead, the M16th tries to really slim down the side bezels, and the result is a fairly immersive-looking device that should please those who hate the notch.
With all of its specifications, the Meizu M16th aims squarely for the OnePlus 6T’s market share in India. The device is available in two colors, and is priced at an introductory price of ₹39,999 for the 8GB RAM variant. We were unable to confirm the pricing of the 6GB RAM variant, or whether it will make its way to the Indian market. The 8GB RAM variant of the device will be available on Amazon.in when it does go on sale, which should happen soon.
