Google Home’s note-taking feature rolls out as the app adds previous/next media controls

Smart home devices are getting more popular as digital assistants are getting better. Not a day passes when I don’t use my Google Home Mini. It wakes me up, helps me catch up with the latest news, tells me when I should leave home to arrive at school on time, and more. To put it in short, Google Assistant plays a big role in making sure my day goes well. One thing I’ve been missing all this time is the ability to take notes. It’s not always comfortable to reach for the phone and open Google Keep to write a one-liner.

According to the Reddit user kittymowmowmow, the note-saving feature is already rolling out on Google Home devices, including the Mini and Max. Last month, Google Assistant received support for 3rd-party notes and lists apps. That way, you can save your notes hands-free in any app you prefer.

Along with this feature, Reddit user dolphinelrapo noticed that Google also fixed yet another annoyance: the inability to change tracks via the Google Home app. Previously, if you wanted to play the next or previous song, you had to open the music streaming service (Spotify for example) and do it from there. Now it’s much more comfortable and intuitive.

I know for a fact that these two features have been heavily requested by many users of Google Home devices. Some people (like me) even deemed them as an important necessity for a digital assistant and a smart speaker. Both of these features will help us expand the hands-free experience while using our favorite Google services, along with some third-party ones if needed.
