Xiaomi’s global conquest has recently made its way to Ireland and the UK, but the company has no intentions of stopping there. With the company recently releasing the Xiaomi Black Shark Helo as a mid-cycle refresh of sorts over the original Xiaomi Black Shark, it’s yet another gaming phone on the market for many. While the Razer Phone 2 is available globally (to a reasonable extent), other competitors like the ASUS ROG Phone are not. From November 16th, you’ll be able to pick up the original Xiaomi Black Shark in 28 different countries in Europe, though not its successor. Black Shark is a company that Xiaomi has heavily invested in.
You’ll be able to pick it up in the following countries from the company’s website: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the UK.
Whether it will be available through any other online retailers is unknown, but it’s likely that resellers will get their hands on it.
The Xiaomi Black Shark features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It features a 6-inch 2160×1080 IPS LCD display and a 4,000 mAh battery. It’s no slouch by any means, but the lack of a high refresh-rate screen may turn people to competitors. There are very few features that actually make this phone a gaming phone, other than the gamer-esque design. There is a “Shark Mode” included, which works as a game booster of sorts if that’s your kind of thing. It is unknown if the company’s peripherals (mainly the gamepad) will be available as well or not.
It is unknown how much the device will cost in Europe, though it retails at CNY 2,999 in China. That’s about €380, or £332. It’s kind of strange that we aren’t seeing the Helo launched instead, but it’s possible that may come later.
