Samsung’s Android Pie beta starts this month in the US, Germany, and Korea

One UI Android Pie Open Beta

Samsung held their big developer conference earlier today and had a lot of new stuff to talk about. A foldable phone made an appearance, but the thing we’ll be seeing first is called “One UI.” This is the same Samsung Experience 10 we’ve been showing off the last couple of months. It’s based on Android Pie and will be rolling out in January, but you’ll be able to get a taste before that.

One UI Open Beta

Android Pie and One UI will be available in a beta later this month. It will kick off in the US, Germany, and Korea, but will later come to China, France, India, Poland, Spain, and the UK. We don’t know the timeframe for when those other countries will get the beta. Only the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be able to participate in the One UI beta program.

Here’s how to sign up:

  1. Download the Samsung Members application from Galaxy Apps or the Google Play Store.
  2. After logging in, go to Notices and select “One UI Beta Program Registration” to submit an application.
  3. Once signed up, go to Settings and then Update Software to select the Download Updates Manually option. This will allow the software to update and load the beta version.

We’re not sure when exactly this month the beta program will kick off. Sign up with the instructions above and keep an eye on your updates. We’ll be sure to let you know when the Android Pie beta begins to roll out.
