Samsung Galaxy A9 with Quad Rear Cameras launched in India for ₹36,990

The Samsung Galaxy A9 was unveiled last month, boasting to be the world’s first rear quad camera smartphone. Samsung has now launched the smartphone in India, bringing a 6GB RAM and a 8GB RAM variant to the country.

The main talking point of the Samsung Galaxy A9 is of course, the camera setup. Comprising of a total of four cameras on the back and a single front camera, the Galaxy A9 is made for the people who take their mobile photography seriously. The main camera on the back is a 24MP f/1.7 sensor. Then there are sensors for different situations: a 8MP, f/2.4 sensor for 120-degree wide angle shots; a 10MP, f/2.4 sensor for 2x Optical Zoom; and a 5MP, f/2.2 sensor for depth sensing and bokeh effects. There is also an LED flash on the back to complete the package. The front camera is a 24MP sensor with a f/2.0 aperture.Samsung Galaxy A9 Star

The Samsung Galaxy A9 also makes for a good smartphone outside of its camera experience. The phone features a 6.3″ FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display. On the inside, the device sports the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC that is commonly spotted across higher mid-range smartphones. Complementing the powerful SoC are options of 6GB or 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage and expandability options up to another 512GB. The phone sports a beefy 3,800 mAh battery with fast charging support through the USB Type-C port, a fingerprint sensor on the back and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well. The phone launches with Android 8.0 Oreo underneath the Samsung Experience 9.0 UX, though there is no word currently on a timeline for the Android 9 Pie update.
