The Xiaomi Redmi 4A belongs to Xiaomi’s fleet of low-end devices. After all, the phone itself is nothing to write home about, featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with 2 GB of RAM and up to 32 GB of storage. With low specs also come low prices, of course, and the Redmi 4A’s initial asking price was hovering around the $100 mark. Despite its low-end specifications and its asking price, however, Xiaomi has shown that they’re committed to releasing updates, even for these devices. The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is now receiving an update to MIUI 10 on the Global Stable branch.
The update is based on Android 7.1 Nougat and weighs in at 1.3 GB: it’s very unlikely this device will be receiving an official update to Android Oreo or Android Pie. If you have this device, check out the update now!
