Alleged Google Pixel 3 Lite shown off next to the iPhone XR/XS

Pixel 3 Lite

Leading up to the launch of the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL, we heard a lot of crazy speculation about the company revealing a third device. This phone was often referred to as the “Pixel 3 Ultra” and rumors claimed it would be a bezel-less phone with believers pointing to certain silhouette images as “proof.” Interestingly enough, there does seem to be a third entry into the Pixel 3 series, but it’s currently being referred to as the Pixel 3 Lite, and photos of it are leaking everywhere. Today we get to see the phone compared right next to devices like the original Google Pixel, the iPhone XR, the iPhone XS, and more.

A little more than a week ago a website published the first hands-on images of the Pixel 3 Lite. Now, there were some hints and rumors that Google would release a low or mid-range version of the Pixel 3 dating back to earlier this year, but toward the launch, the rumors were focused on the so-called premium Pixel 3 Ultra. Along with these hands-on photos we were also given a list of specs that we are to expect.

Alleged Pixel 3 Lite Specs

  • 5.56-inch IPS display, 2220×1080
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 670
  • Adreno 615
  • 4GB of RAM
  • 32GB of storage (no microSD card slot)
  • 2,915 mAh battery
  • 12MP rear camera, dual LED flash
  • 8MP front camera
  • Android 9 Pie
  • USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack

This would indeed make the device a mid-range smartphone with its Snapdragon 670 SoC. Google’s Pixel lineup has notoriously been expensive with many saying it’s overpriced considering the flagship competition. However, we also know that Google has been aggressively going after emerging markets like India, so this Lite model could be a great compromise for those types of regions. We still don’t have that much more information to go on. However, we do get to see alleged Pixel 3 Lite shown side-by-side with other current generation smartphones.
