As part of Xiaomi’s continued global expansion, they are now set to launch officially in Ireland come November 1st. The reveal comes hot off the heels of an announcement that they are expanding officially into the UK with a store set to open in merely two weeks. Xiaomi’s launch in Ireland is through an exclusive partnership with local mobile network provider Three, which interestingly was also meant to be the case in the UK. It has always been possible to import phones from the company within Ireland, though admittedly with a little difficulty.
The launch event will take place in Dublin, and anybody can register to attend. Tickets are on a first come, first serve basis and you can apply for them through Three’s own website. Attendees are welcome to bring an extra guest as well. While it’s unknown what exact devices the company intends to launch in Ireland, they say that there will be a range of smartphones and other products available. With the company’s recently announced Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, it’s not out of the question to expect it to be one of the officially announced devices at the event.
For those who deem themselves to be “super fans” of the company, there’s even better news. You can apply to work in the Xiaomi experience zone for the day, where you can work and answer any questions those attending the event may have. Those 8 people will also receive free goodies from the company as a thank you, though it is unknown what those are yet. If you want to get involved, send an email to RSVP@three.ie with the subject line “I’m a Mi Fan because…”.
The location of the event hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s expected to be soon. The company also intends to launch the Mi Fan club in Ireland, where events for fans of the company can be organized on a regular basis. Mi Fan club events can range from events like marathons to photography competitions.
If you get a ticket, be sure to let us know in the comments!
