In case you haven’t checked the calendar yet today, it’s the first day of a new month. A new month means a new batch of Android security updates is ready to be sent out into the Android world. Google has released the security bulletins for the Pixel/Nexus devices and Android devices in general.
Like last month, the Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, and Pixel 2 XL all get Android 9 Pie updates. The Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, and Pixel C are still on Android 8.1 Oreo. There are a few functional updates for the Pixel and Nexus devices this month, as shown below in the chart. The fast charging issue for Pixel devices, which was discovered last month, has been fixed just like Google promised.
We have compiled the OTA files and factory images for the Pixel devices in the chart below. Find the Android security files for your device and click it to start the download. To flash the update manually without losing all of your data, follow the steps outlined in this tutorial.
