Download the first MIUI 10 Android Pie beta for the POCO F1

Xiaomi Pocophone F1, Xiaomi Poco F1

This year, we have seen many launches of good “affordable flagship” phones such as the OnePlus 6, Asus ZenFone 5Z, Honor Play, and now the OnePlus 6T. However, the one phone which is clearly superior than its competitors in terms of offering value for money is the Xiaomi POCO F1, also known as the Xiaomi Pocophone F1. The first phone released under Xiaomi’s POCO sub-brand, the POCO F1 has a high-end list of specifications including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6GB/8GB of RAM with 64GB/128GB/256GB of storage, 6.18-inch Full HD+ (2246×1080) 18.7:9 IPS LCD, dual 12MP + 5MP (depth sensor) rear cameras, a 20MP front-facing camera with pixel binning, and a 4,000mAh battery. The phone ships with MIUI 9.6 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo.

Last month, Xiaomi released the first Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM for the POCO F1. Since then, the company has been releasing MIUI 10 Global Beta builds on a weekly basis. Although many other Xiaomi phones have already received the MIUI 10 Global Stable update, the POCO F1 has had to wait so far. This week the wait will finally end as Xiaomi will roll out the MIUI 10 Global Stable update for the phone. However, the Global Stable update will be based on Android Oreo, and not on Android Pie.

Considering that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S has already received the Android 9 Pie-based MIUI 10 Global Stable update, POCO F1 users are naturally curious about the Android Pie update. We now have the first Android Pie-based MIUI 10 Global Beta build for the POCO F1. This is a leaked beta build and hasn’t been announced publicly yet.

MIUI 10 Android Pie Xiaomi POCO F1The leaked Android Pie-based MIUI 10 beta build for the POCO F1 brings the Android version up to Android 9 and the MIUI version to MIUI 10 8.10.30. It comes with the October security patch. It can be downloaded from this link. As this is a recovery ROM, it can be flashed via the MIUI Updater app. Do note that users moving from MIUI 9 Global Stable will lose their data moving to MIUI 10, so they are advised to make a backup first.
