Xiaomi launched MIUI 10 in China back in May followed by a global release in June. The latest version of the software includes features like full-screen gestures, redesigned recent apps overview, AI portrait shots, and more. Xiaomi has been slowly rolling out the newest version of the software since the initial release. Now, the China stable ROM is available for the Xiaomi Mi 8, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Xiaomi Mi Note 2, Xiaomi Mi 6X, and more.
As you may already know, Xiaomi offers four versions of their ROM: China Stable, China Developer, Global Stable, and Global Developer. While you can install any of them, keep in mind that the two China ROMs don’t come with Google Play Services and are only available in English and Mandarin. For devices that launch internationally, Xiaomi also offers two Global ROM versions that do include Google Play Services and come in many more languages. Xiaomi does release new features and betas to the Chinese versions of their ROMs faster than the Global versions, however, so if you want to live on the bleeding edge of MIUI 10 then you may be interested in the China ROMs. (Many people also like installing the unofficial MIUI ROMs from Xiaomi.eu, which are actually based on MIUI China Developer.)
Last week, MIUI 10 China Stable was released for the Xiaomi Redmi Y2/S2, Xiaomi Mi 5, and Xiaomi Mi Mix. It was also released for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 8 SE, Xiaomi Mi Note 3, and Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. Now, you can install MIUI 10 China Stable on a few more devices. These devices are:
- Xiaomi Mi 8
- Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition
- Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S
- Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro
- Xiaomi Mi Note 2
- Xiaomi Mi 6X
You can install the recovery ROM using TWRP. The instructions can be found here. Download links for the newest builds are available in the table below.
