MIUI 10 Xiaomi Redmi 6 Xiaomi Redmi 6a

MIUI 10 was first released back in May in China, followed by the global release in July. It brings a lot of new features, including the optimized performance of the system, new natural sounds, full-screen gestures, and more. Xiaomi continues to treat their users with the latest and greatest version of Android. Just now, the Xiaomi Mi 8 received Android Pie-based MIUI 10 as an Insider Beta in China. The official Twitter account of MIUI reports that ROM will roll out for global users “later.”

You can install the China version of the ROM on your Xiaomi Mi 8 device since we already have the download link. Keep in mind that this version doesn’t come with Google Play Services and only Mandarin and English languages are supported. If you still want to install it, here are the instructions. As this is a recovery ROM, you won’t have to wipe anything to update to Android Pie. Link for the download is at the end of the article.

Google apps and more languages will be available in the Global release of the ROM. We don’t know the exact date of the launch just yet but stay tuned. As you already know, Xiaomi offers four versions of the system: China Developer, China Stable, Global Developer, and Global Stable. Both stable and beta versions of Global ROM include much more language options and Google Play Services.

Important note: this update add anti-rollback protection to the Mi 8. You will not be able to downgrade if you choose to update your device. Xiaomi has been rolling this out to more devices and now the Mi 8 has it as well.
