This year, Vivo has shown that the company is capable of performing innovation in the smartphone space. Vivo was the first to release a smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor, and since then, in-display fingerprint sensors have become a mainstay on the company’s upper mid-range phones. The Vivo NEX was the world’s first phone to have a popup camera, something which is now being attempted by multiple device makers. The company has also been one of the first to adopt the waterdrop notch with the Vivo X23 and the Vivo V11 Pro.
In-display fingerprint sensors may be a great demo of technology, but as of now, they remain slower and less accurate than conventional fingerprint sensors, while also being more expensive. After launching the Vivo V11 Pro in India earlier this month (which itself is a downgraded variant of the Vivo X23), Vivo is now back with a downgraded variant of the phone: the Vivo V11.
The Vivo V11 swaps out the in-display fingerprint sensor for a back-mounted conventional sensor. It also swaps out the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC in favor of the less powerful MediaTek Helio P60. Its full specifications are noted below:

Launch offers include a flat ₹2,000 Paytm cashback coupon if purchased using Paytm Mall QR code in offline stores, flat ₹2,000 cashback on HDFC bank credit and debit cards, and a one-time screen replacement offered by Flipkart in case of screen damage during the first six months.
Paytm and Swiggy coupons worth ₹2,100 will be made available, with these offers ending on September 30. Prepaid customers get 820GB data with Vodafone Idea while postpaid consumers get 600GB data on recharges of ₹198 and ₹399 plans respectively.
In terms of competition, the phone faces competition from the likes of the upcoming Realme 2 Pro, the Xiaomi Mi A2, the Xiaomi Poco F1, the Honor Play, the OPPO F9/F9 Pro, the Nokia 7 Plus, and others. It’s clear that Vivo targets this phone for the offline market, where phones like the Poco F1 and the Honor Play are not available.
