Lenovo-owned Motorola launched the Moto G6 and the Moto E5 series in April. The Moto G6 series consists of the top-end Moto G6 Plus, the Moto G6, and the Moto G6 Play. The Moto E5 series consists of the Moto E5 Plus, the Moto E5, and the Moto E5 Play. Notably, the Moto G6 Plus was not launched in the United States. In India, Motorola didn’t launch the Moto G6 Plus alongside the Moto G6 in June, but has said that the phone is coming soon. This year, it’s clear that Motorola’s budget phone lineup falls behind its competitors in terms of specifications and value.
Now, however, leaked photos of what’s possibly the Motorola Moto G7 (although it’s labeled as the Motorola Moto G6 Plus—a device which has already launched) have been posted online. The photo shows a waterdrop notch, which is interesting to see. OPPO has adopted the waterdrop notch in the OPPO F9/F9 Pro, and we reported that the Huawei Mate 20 would also have a waterdrop notch. The waterdrop notch is smaller than a traditional wide notch, and it increases the total usable screen estate of the display.

This alleged Moto G7 variant also features thin bezels on the sides and the bottom. The fingerprint sensor looks to have been moved to the back. The Motorola logo will be placed on the circular fingerprint sensor.
Another alleged photo of the Motorola One was also posted by the same user. The Motorola One and the Motorola One Power have been rumored for a while, but as of now, their launch date remains unknown. Motorola did launch the Motorola P30 in China with an iPhone X-style notch, and the phone was powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 system-on-chip.
As of now, it’s unknown when this alleged Moto G7 will launch. It’s possible that it may have higher-end specifications than the Moto G6 Plus, but at this time, this is only speculation. We expect to learn more in the coming weeks.
