The launch of the OnePlus 6 is getting closer and closer. Its predecessor, the OnePlus 5T, is now permanently out of stock in the US and the UK, and the 128GB storage version of the device is no longer available in India. In the past few weeks, OnePlus has revealed several major specifications of the OnePlus 6. The device will naturally feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 system-on-chip, and it will come in an 8GB RAM/256GB storage variant. It will have a display notch, and users will be able to hide it after a software update.
In terms of design, the OnePlus 6 will have vertically placed dual rear cameras, and a rear fingerprint sensor. (Details about the cameras aren’t known yet.) It will also retain the 3.5mm headphone jack, and it will be powered by OxygenOS. This month, OnePlus started releasing teasers about the device, which indicates that its launch is near.
Now, the company has stared a teaser video for the device in some Indian cinemas. The teaser shows the same “The speed you need” tagline of the OnePlus 6 which the company promoted earlier this month. The video doesn’t reveal anything new regarding the phone’s specifications, but a slide at the end says that the OnePlus 6 will be an Amazon exclusive in India, just like previous OnePlus devices.
That’s not a surprising fact. OnePlus has had an exclusive partnership with Amazon ever since the company launched the OnePlus One on Amazon in December 2014. The OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T were available at the company’s own OnePlus Store, and the OnePlus 6 may also be available at the OnePlus store. For now, it’s unknown whether OnePlus also plans to make the OnePlus 6 available at select offline stores such as Croma.
We expect to learn more details about the phone in the time leading up to its launch.
