How to Change the DPI on Xiaomi Phones Running MIUI 9 Without Root

Being able to adjust the DPI of an Android smartphone or tablet is one of the most useful modifications you can make. It’s become so popular, in fact, that Google added a native way to adjust the DPI in Android using a sliding scale — a “minimum width” option in Android’s Developer Options menu that lets you set it exactly how you like. However, it’s missing from Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 overlay, so XDA Substratum Development Leader nicholaschum came up with a way to add it back in without the need for root access. Note, though, that while you can continue to use custom themes from MIUI and other sources, you’ll notice that the Themes application will look slightly tilted. But that’s a small price to pay for DPI adjustment.
