We’ve become used to the typical phone releases at the expected times, often knowing well ahead of each announcement just what to look forward to. As numbers in specification sheets arguably climb up accross the board, and as phones implement more premium or durable materials, you’d think it’d be hard for us to complain about any new device.
Sadly, as everyone moves forward in this space, plenty are left behind while they focus on gimmicks, unattainable ecosystems or half-baked features. Sometimes, their devices don’t live up to the performance or battery life we come to expect from mobile devices in 2017. And quite often, new smartphones are just plain ugly, whether they are attempting to rekindle an old design language or bring something different to the table. So we ask you,
What have been the most disappointing smartphone releases in recent memory? Why were these phones underwhelming, and what would you have changed about the product?
