Samsung was just granted a patent on technology that would improve the sensitivity of a camera sensor by adding a color splitter. The patent says that by splitting the light captured from an image into two separate beams, the camera sensor will capture more detail. This will help improve color reproduction, reduce noise at higher ISOs and increase low light performance.
