Earlier this week, a hacker in Mexico claimed to be able to skim the token from a Samsung Pay device and then use it when the smartphone is not present. While Samsung didn’t refute the entire demonstration, they did release a statement saying they do “not use the algorithm claimed in the Black Hat presentation to encrypt payment credentials or generate cryptograms.”
